TAFE NSW Hunter Institute

Student Responsibilities

What happens in TAFE if you misbehave?
If your behaviour prevents others in your class from learning you will be disciplined according to TAFE NSW regulations and student discipline policies. Your school will be notified and, at the schools discretion, your parents will be informed. Failure to respond to feedback regarding unacceptable behaviour may result in your suspension from either the class or the course.

What happens if you have an accident?

If you have an accident or suffer any kind of injury while on Campus, you must let your teacher or the Head Teacher know immediately. TAFE staff will organise the necessary First Aid or medical help and will help you complete an accident/incident form. They will also advise your school/parents.

What do you wear to TAFE?

You do not have to wear your school uniform but you must dress appropriately. Specifically: if you have been provided with special clothing and/or footwear or other personal protective equipment (PPE), it must be worn, as directed, without exception. If you attend TAFE without your PPE you will be excluded from TAFE practical classes. Thongs are not permitted.
