High School - TVET

Please replace this with appropriate alternate text TVET courses allow high school students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to study selected TAFE vocational subjects while still at school, giving you a career head start. If you have a trade or career path in mind, see if you can enrol for a TAFE course next semester. You can learn a lot on the job and gain work related skills or keep studying at TAFE or University.

A TVET course classified as Industry Curriculum Framework (ICF) can contribute to your Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and TVET NSW courses provide you with dual accreditation from the NSW Board of Studies and TAFE NSW.

a TVET\SPY\TOP Application Form or obtaining one from your school Careers Advisor. Once you have completed the application, have it approved by your Careers Advisor and parent/caregiver.

What do I do next?
Once you have completed your application form, had your parent/caregiver sign part 7 and returned to your Careers Advisor for  approval, these will be forward to the relevant TAFE Campuses by your school. You will be advised by letter to your home address the outcome of your application. If successful you will receive an orientation letter in mid January which details start dates, times and the location of your first class.

Selection Process

Students are offered places in courses on the basis of satisfying the following criteria: Level of ability including pre-requisite skills which indicates a capacity to succeed in the course, application to studies, maturity and suitability for an adult learning environment, high level of interest in the proposed course demonstrated through interests or commitment to completing the course and a good school attendance record.

Students are encouraged to attach a copy of their most recent school report to their application to assist the selection process for high demand courses.
