The 100% Recognition service enables you to have your skills and knowledge assessed against TAFE NSW units, modules or courses, without being a currently enrolled student. When your application has been successfully assessed, then you enrol in the course you have completed and gain the qualification.
Visit the
Recognition FAQs page for Evidence for Recognition.
There are fees for this service.
Documentary Assessment: $250 up front, PLUS relevant enrolment fee on successful course completion. See details on
cost of courses.
Under this fee structure, you have to provide us with detailed documentary evidence of your skills and knowledge as they relate to units in the course. If you are granted recognition for all the required units/modules, you then enrol in the course you applied for and receive the TAFE NSW qualification. You will have to pay the current fee for the course for one semester. If you are granted recognition for only some of the required units/modules, you will receive a transcript to show those units granted. You may be able to enrol in the course to finish the required units. If the course requires application, you will need to apply.
Skills Assessment: If our assessor needs to assess your practical skills in the workplace or in our TAFE workshops, then additional charges apply, and you will be provided with written quote for this service. For most Building Industry licences, you can obtain information from the Hunter Institute Energy Training Unit on 49237519.
A skills assessment is often required to obtain qualifications for Office of Fair Trading licences. See
Trades Recognition on this site.
