If you can't attend the enrolment day (because of exceptional circumstances, such as illness, hospitalisation, work commitments, family responsibilities, interstate and overseas travel commitments), you can send someone to enrol for you by proxy. Both you and your proxy need to complete the Enrolment by Proxy form in advance. Your proxy can then bring it, plus any supporting documentation and fees, and enrol on your behalf on enrolment day. To find out what other documentation you may be required to bring on the enrolment day or further advice on enrolment by proxy, contact the campus of enrolment before enrolling by proxy.

Plagiarism is an attempt to present another person's work or ideas as though they are your own. It often involves copying text directly from another source without acknowledging whose work it is. It is important when writing a report or essay that you acknowledge all the sources you have used. Books, journal articles, websites you have referred to must be acknowledged. Support in the form of handouts and assistance are also available through your teachers and campus library. REMEMBER - plagiarism is a form of theft, and is regarded as a serious offence in TAFE NSW. Students who are found to have plagiarised may face disciplinary action under the Student Discipline Policy. Staff and students should refer to the Hunter TAFE Student Plagiarism Policy. The NSW Board of Studies has created a useful website - All My Own Work - to assist students to follow ethical practices when locating and using information.

The TAFEcard is a student identification card issued to every student who enrols in a TAFE NSW course. The card displays your photograph, name and student identification number. It also functions as your library card. It is best to keep your TAFEcard with you at all times (it's also a good idea to carry your Medicare card with you at all times).
You TAFEcard enables you to:
- Collect your student travel pass - Use photocopiers - Access Student Computer Labs - Access Disabled Parking (for students with a disability) - Identify you as a student on TAFE NSW campuses - Identify you as a student in final examinations
Your TAFEcard can be issued from Student Service Centres located at any of the 15 campuses. You will need your photograph taken and proof of enrolment. Keep your TAFEcard as it is a permanent ID card which will be re-activated whenever you take up study with TAFE again. Keep your TAFEcard with you at all times. If your card is lost or destroyed, you will have to pay $20 for a replacement. *A credit value will need to be added to the card to enable the photocopy facility. Contact Student Services at your campus of study.
