Personal issues
A number of personal issues may interfere with your ability to study. If you are a Hunter TAFE student experiencing personal difficulties you may like to contact a counsellor. Counsellors can talk with you about a variety of issues and do so in a non-judgemental way. Sometimes it is beneficial to speak to someone other than your friends and family about personal issues.
Students can talk to a counsellor about relationships, stress, depression, anxiety, conflict, self-esteem, accommodation, harassment and complaints - in fact almost anything, on the path to getting further help.
If you do not wish to see a counsellor but require assistance for a mental health issue, telephone Hunter New England Mental Health on 1800 655 085 or Central Coast Mental Health Intake on 4320 3500. In an emergency please contact Ambulance or Police on 000 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
Counsellors are available at each campus. The best way to speak to a counsellor is to make an appointment at a campus convenient to you. Find contact details in the side menu on the right. Your privacy will be respected.
If you are experiencing health issues, it is recommended that you seek professional help (e.g. GP, counsellor, psychologist) and not rely on the Internet alone.
