100% recognition
The 100% Recognition service enables you to have your skills and knowledge assessed against TAFE NSW units or courses, without being a currently enrolled student.

When your application has been successfully assessed, then you enrol in the course you have completed and gain the qualification.

There are fees for this service.

Documentary Assessment
You have to provide us with detailed documentary evidence of your skills and knowledge as they relate to units in the course. If you are granted recognition for all the required units, you then enrol in the course you applied for and receive the TAFE NSW qualification.

Skills Assessment
If our assessor needs to assess your practical skills in the workplace or in our TAFE workshops, then additional charges apply, and you will be provided with a written quote for this service. For most Building Industry licences, you need to apply for trades recognition against the relevant Certificate III course.

A skills assessment is often required to obtain qualifications for NSW Fair Trading licences.
