What qualifications do you need to train at TAFE?

  • There are different requirements for different subject areas and courses.
  • Generally, our trainers have a Degree or Diploma in the trade or discipline area in which they specialise, and a Certificate IV qualification in Training and Assessment (TAE40110). Please contact your Workforce Development Consultant for more information on 4923 7172.
  • If you have the skills and knowledge but not a formal qualification, talk to us about Recognition of Prior Learning to determine if your skills, experiences or prior training can assist you with determining your next step at Hunter TAFE.
  • You also need to demonstrate that you have three years or more relevant industry or professional experience.

What is your commitment?

Your commitment to delivering training at Hunter TAFE could cover day, evening, weekend, term and vacation times. You may be asked to deliver training from 1 – 19 hours per week over a year, a semester, a term or a few weeks, depending on the duration of the course and the needs of the Faculty.
