Robbie Gra
tton
Robbie Gratton is well on his way to becoming a successful lawyer.
Dedication, passion and hard work have all helped Robbie secure a place in the course at the University of New England under the School/College Recommendation Admission Scheme.
Robbie commenced HSC studies at Hunter TAFE in 2006 and attributes much of his success to his teachers.
“If it wasn’t for my teachers inspiring me with the course I doubt I would have done so well. I would really like to thank Kevin, my legal studies teacher, for allowing me to have ‘mini debates’ in class to better understand, and grow a love of law,” Robbie said.
Ashleigh Browne

Unable to complete her studies at school, Ashleigh Browne turned to Hunter TAFE to undertake her HSC.
As a result of her effort and diligence during her two years at Hunter TAFE, Ashleigh was recommended by her teachers for acceptance at the University of New England through the School College Recommendation Admission Scheme.
“This is a great opportunity for me. I’m going to be studying a Bachelor of Education and I believe Hunter TAFE has helped me achieve my goal of attending University,” Ashleigh said.
Charles Muldoon

Persistent is definitely a word that characterises Charles Muldoon.
After trying to complete his School Certificate studies for five years, he has finally achieved his goal.
Charles has overcome much personal adversity and many family hardships to not only pass his studies, but achieve distinctions in every class.
“Finally completing this course feels awesome because I got what I’ve wanted for five years. I can now look to the future,” Charles said.
Matthew Clark

Matthew Clark is half-way to achieving his educational goals.
After leaving school in year nine and moving to Sydney to be closer to his ill sister, Matthew’s future studies were uncertain.
Matthew relocated to the Central Coast and commenced the Foundation and Vocational Education course at Wyong Campus before eventually re-enrolling at Newcastle Campus in the Certificate of General Vocational Education.
“So far, I’m half way through the course. I have some catching up to do, but my teachers have all been very supportive,” Matthew said.
Joseph Malok Akot

In 2005 Joseph Malok Akot immigrated to Australia from Sudan and soon after, he enrolled at Hunter TAFE to study for his Tertiary Preparation Certificate.
“It was very hard when I started my TPC course because of the language, but I paid attention to understand my teachers until I finished this year – with a very good pass!” Joseph said.
Joseph hopes to study a Bachelor of Social Science at the University of Newcastle before eventually working in community welfare to help African-Australians.
