The Hamilton Campus library collection includes a wide range of information resources in various formats including books, magazines, menus, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and audio visual materials.
Collection strengths are in Tourism an Hospitality, including Baking, Meat and Allied Trades, Commercial Cookery, Food and Beverage, Hospitality Catering, Hospitality Management and Travel, as well as Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Literacy.
A current interest file containing pamphlets and newspaper clippings related to current issuesand to the courses taught at this campus is located near the main collection. Items are not for loan but may be photocopied.
A large collection of menus from restaurants, aircraft etc throughout the world is maintained and items may be borrowed. They are kept in a filing cabinet located near the main collection. |

We receive 3 newspapers - The Newcastle Herald, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian Financial Review. These are kept in the library near the lounge area and may not be borrowed. Back issues are kept for approximately one month.
Professional library staff are available to assist staff and students in the use of the library and its resources, as well as deliver Information Literacy programs to teach research skills.
Students and staff at Hamilton have access to a range of facilities including a seminar room and audio visual equipment. It is advisable to book for any of these facilities.
A photocopier is available for student use.
20 student use computers are available for course related work, all of which have access to Office XP and the Internet.

Computers 1-17 may be booked for up to 2 hours per day. Booking diaries are located on top of these computers. Bookings are automatically cancelled if you don't arrive within 15 minutes.
Computers 1-12 are available for both class and individual bookings. Computers 13-17 are available for individual bookings only and 18-20 are Express Terminals for printing, Library Catalogue usage and 10 minute email.
If you wish to save your work you should bring your own storage media, either a USB drive or writable CD.
