An existing worker traineeship may be approved where a permanent employee has been employed by the existing employer for more than three months full time, twelve months casual or part-time, or a combination of both prior to commencing the traineeship.
This means employers can claim Commonwealth Incentives up to $4,000 for each employee, depending on their previous qualifications. The employer then pays the Registered Training Organisation for the training and assessment of the trainee. |
