TAFE NSW is the largest vocational training provider in Australia. Many TAFE NSW employees enrol and study in TAFE NSW courses, and at times apply for 100% Recognition for whole courses.
As a large learning organisation, TAFE NSW ensures that its policies and practices are fair and ethical. The TAFE NSW Assessment Policy contains a section on Fair and Ethical Practice which gives guidelines on the assessment of TAFE NSW staff.
In summary, the following procedures may be used to avoid a real or perceived conflict of interest:
- TAFE staff can be assessed by teaching staff with no line management, personal, or close working relationship at the same campus OR
- TAFE staff can be assessed by teaching staff from another campus of the same Institute OR
- TAFE staff can be assessed by teaching staff from another Institute.
