assess in the Australian vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Achievement of this qualification satisfies the requirements of the Australian
Quality Training Framework. You will learn how to plan, organise and deliver
training; plan and implement assessment activities; and how to design training
programs that meet client needs.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) qualification assumes that the learner is engaged in a training and education environment or has a vocational skill at a level that supports training and education in the subject area in which it is intended to teach. It is not suitable as a standalone entry level qualification to the VET sector.

Intending participants should hold a qualification in the discipline area in which they intend to teach, i.e., a trade certificate or qualification at level IV is usually required. Participants should also note that they may need to update their existing qualifications in their industry area if the qualification is more than three years old.

It is strongly recommended that participants are able to access and use the following before undertaking the TAE40110 Training and Assessment course:

It will enable participant to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to competently perform the role of a skilled trainer, facilitator and assessor in the workplace and the VET sector generally.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is appropriate for people with advanced technical skills and a supervisory, management or teaching role. This course gives participants knowledge and skills to act appropriately as well as teach others to a higher level of understanding. Participants typically learn to develop and deliver training and assessment for individuals and small or large groups; assess the on-the-job competencies of workers; and report and record training results.
