Hamilton Campus Library

Hamilton LibraryHamilton Campus Library is part of the TAFE NSW Hunter Institute network of 15 campus libraries.

 

The Hamilton Campus collection includes a wide range of information resources in various formats, including books, magazines, DVDs and videos and audio-visual materials.

 

The collection covers several subject areas including Tourism and Hospitality, and Community Services.

 

A current interest file containing pamphlets and newspaper clippings related to courses taught at this campus is located at the rear of the library. Items are not for loan but may be photocopied.

 

A large collection of menus from around the world is maintained and items may be borrowed. They are kept in a filing cabinet also located at the rear of the library.

 

Hamilton Campus Library receives three newspapers: The Newcastle Herald, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian Financial Review. These are kept in the library near the lounge area and may not be borrowed. Back issues are kept for approximately one month.

 

Experienced TAFE library staff are on hand to offer professional assistance with locating information resources and provide training in information searching skills.

Computers

20 computers for student use are available for course related work, all of which have access to Microsoft Office 2010 and the Internet.

Facilities

Students and staff at Hamilton have access to a range of facilities including a seminar room and audio visual equipment.
 
It is advisable that you book if you wish to use these facilities.

Printing

A multifunctional printer/photocopier is available for use in the library. The following charges apply:

10c per A4 B&W 20c per A3 B&W
30c per A4 colour 60c per A3 colour Double-sided copying and printing is available.

 

Students require their TAFEcard to pay for printing and photocopying.
Both coins and notes can be used to charge your TAFEcard in the library.

 

The Hunter Institute is a cash free workplace, and library staff are unable to provide change.
