Belmont Campus Library

Belmont Campus Library is part of the TAFE NSW Hunter Institute network of 15 campus libraries.

The Belmont Campus collection includes books, magazines, videos, DVDs, audio-visual materials and newspapers. Recreational reading such as fiction and biographies are also available.

The collection covers subject areas such as basic and general education, business administration, business management, information technology, land, parks and environment.

Experienced TAFE library staff members are on hand to offer professional assistance with locating information resources and provide training in information searching skills.

 

The library receives two newspapers: the Newcastle Herald and the Sydney Morning Herald. Newspapers are kept in the reading area of the library near the photocopier.

There are two current issues files and a map file, which contains world, geological, soils and topographical maps.

Facilities

Students and staff at Belmont Campus have access to a range of facilities.

The library has two rooms that are available for use by staff and students. Both rooms have a television, DVD/video player, overhead projectors and a whiteboard. The seminar room has a smart board and a computer.

Computers

The library has 14 computers for student use.
Computers are self-booked, with a limit of 2 hours per day per student. The booking folder is on the display table.

Bookings are essential, but are cancelled if you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your booking time.

If you wish to save your work you should your own USB drive.
Only software installed on the computers may be used.
To use the computers you must be a current TAFE student with a TAFEcard.

Printing

A multifunctional printer/photocopier is available for use in the library. The following charges apply: 
10c per A4 B&W   20c per A3 B&W 
30c per A4 colour 60c per A3 col. Double-sided copying and printing is available.

Students require their TAFEcard to pay for printing and photocopying.

Both coins and notes can be used to charge your TAFEcard in the library.

The Hunter Institute is a cash free workplace, and library staff are unable to provide change.
