Training is what we do at Hunter TAFE. At any given time, over 11,000 apprentices and trainees are undertaking training with Hunter TAFE across a variety of trade and industry sectors, making us the largest provider of apprentices and trainees in the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
Hunter TAFE offers the highest standard of education and training for your apprentices and trainees and will build customised programs for groups with the same employer. We can also offer a combination of on and off the job training to ensure the reliable performance of specific industry tasks.
Hunter TAFE apprenticeships and Hunter TAFE traineeships are often just the beginning for your valued employees. With pathways to further education and increased study, access to qualified staff and excellent student services, you can be certain that your apprentices and trainees will be able to meet the qualifications required to match the growing needs of your business.
Hunter TAFE also provides an employer e-services program for registered employers of apprentices and trainees enrolled in Hunter TAFE apprenticeship courses.
Using our e-services can help you find an apprentice, track their progress and assess their results.
Steps to establishing an Apprenticeship or Traineeship
Step 1: Decide what vocation you want to train in
· Talk with family and friends who work in different industries
· You may like to try some work experience in the business or industry that most interests you
Step 2: Find an employer
· You may already know someone in your area of interest who is willing to take you on as an apprentice or trainee
· Search local papers for apprentice or trainee vacancies
· Contact a Group Training Company which employs apprentices and trainees and places them with a host employer
· Enquire through your local Job Network Services
Step 3: Complete a Training Contract
· Once you have found an employer, your employer will need to contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) who will complete the Training contract for the arrangement
· You will be advised which TAFE course supports the industry you will be working in and how to enrol
