Course Details
Childrens Services CourseChildren’s Services professionals care for the emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in a range of different settings such as long day-care, occasional-care, family day-care, preschool, before and after-school care. 
People in community services/children’s services work in:
• After school and vacation care
• Child-care centres
• Family day-care
• Hospitals as play therapists
• Pre-schools
• Private homes as nannies.
Students studying this course will develop underpinning knowledge to enable them to discuss and demonstrate appropriate skills and attitudes for working with children. 
Students successfully completing 2 years will gain a Certificate III in Children's Services.

How to Apply

Apply by downloading a TVET/SPY/TOP Application Form or obtaining one from your school Careers Advisor. Once you have completed the application, have it approved by your Careers Advisor and parent/caregiver.

What do I do next?
Once you have completed your application form, had your parent/caregiver sign part 7 and returned to your Careers Advisor for approval, these will be forward to the relevant TAFE Campuses by your school. You will be advised by letter to your home address the outcome of your application. If successful you will receive an orientation letter in mid January which details start dates, times and the location of your first class.

​There are no formal educational requirements for this course. This course is designed for students still at school entering into year 11 & 12.
