Children’s Services professionals care for the emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in a range of different settings such as long day-care, occasional-care, family day-care, preschool, before and after-school care.
People in community services/children’s services work in:
• After school and vacation care
• Child-care centres
• Family day-care
• Hospitals as play therapists
• Private homes as nannies.
Students studying this course will develop underpinning knowledge to enable them to discuss and demonstrate appropriate skills and attitudes for working with children.
Students successfully completing 2 years will gain a Certificate III in Children's Services.
