This HSC tourism course is for Industry Curriculum Framework students only and aims to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and work-related attitudes required to perform the role of an entry level employee in a range of sectors in the international tourism industry and events industry. Hunter TAFE's tourism school could help put you on a path to a rewarding tourist focussed role involving travel across the country and overseas. Students may attempt the 120 hours or 240 hours courses. Only students who have completed the 240 indicative hours course will be eligible to sit for the HSC examination. Possible jobs include office assistant for a small tour operator, documentation clerk for a tour wholesaler, receptionist and office assistant in a professional conference organiser or retail travel agency, retail sales assistant in an attraction, museum attendant, event assistant. event administrative assistant or conference assistant.

Important Information

Industry Curriculum Framework Course: This course may count towards an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) if you study it for 2 years consecutively. You would then need to sit the HSC exam to be eligible for an ATAR.
