retail students This course is for HSC students who want to study retail services at TAFE NSW under the TVET program as part of their HSC. Hunter TAFE's retail training courses are for people who want to work in a retail sales and service environment at a junior level. You will learn how to communicate effectively with staff and customers, apply safe working practices and perform stock control and point-of-sale procedures. You will also learn how to minimise theft, operate retail technology and organise and maintain work areas. This retail training program involves a combination of individual and team based learning strategies that include practical activities, industry case studies, role plays, simulations, projects and assignments. The Certificate II in Retail is designed for people who work at entry level in the retail business or for those who have no prior retail experience. It delivers competencies in a range of store activities and functions requiring basic retail operational knowledge and limited practical skills. Possible job roles could include positions in retail sales, customer service and administration.

Industry Curriculum Framework Course: This course may count towards an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) if you study it for 2 years consecutively. You would then need to sit the HSC exam to be eligible for an ATAR.
