Media Journalism Statement of Attainment (TVET)

writingMedia journalism courses are for HSC students who want to study news media at TAFE NSW under the TVET program as part of their HSC. This media studies program will contribute 2 units of study in either or both of the Preliminary (Year 11) or HSC (Year 12) years. This course is also suitable for people who regularly watch the news and want to learn about the news media industry and develop basic skills in news gathering, researching and writing soft and hard news stories for print, video and other electronic media. Participants will prepare a portfolio of work, showcasing their knowledge, skills and attributes achieved in the course. The media training provided prepares participants for further study in news media at Certificate III level or for employment as a news cadet. When you finish this course you can continue on to further and related news media courses, with the goal of employment in print, electronic or broadcast journalism.
