Entertainment Industry Certificate II (TVET)

camera work on stage Entertainment industry courses at Hunter TAFE are ideal for school students who are interested in music and theatre and would like a career in live production management. Students enrolled on this entertainment course can choose between a 120 or 240 hour course, both of which provide an excellent introduction to working in a theatrical environment. Compulsory units of study include occupational health and safety, communicating in the workplace and sourcing and applying entertainment industry knowledge. Elective units of study include learning about costumes, set construction techniques, recording and compiling audio materials, marketing performances, basic directing skills and installing and operating spotlights on stage. Upon completion of this course, you may wish to further your knowledge of the entertainment industry by enrolling in other live production courses or specialising in other areas such as film, media, costume or set design.

Important Information

Industry Curriculum Framework Course: This course may count towards an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) if you study it for 2 years consecutively. You would then need to sit the HSC exam to be eligible for an ATAR.
