
This course is for HSC students who want to study environmental conservation at TAFE NSW under the TVET program as part of their HSC. This conservation training is ideal for students who are passionate about environmental conservation and the preservation of nature, wildlife and natural water environments. The purpose of this training program is to provide students with general skills and knowledge as part of their preparation for entry-level employment in a primary industries environment and work on conservation projects. Students may attempt the 120 hours or 240 hours courses. Only students who have completed the 240 indicative hours course will be eligible to sit for the HSC examination. Students will attempt mandatory competencies and additional elective competencies with a conservation/land management focus contributing towards a Certificate II. Students undertaking further studies in the Extension conservation courses are able to undertake additional competencies at Certificate III level. Students achieving units of competency in this course can apply to have those units recognised in other Rural Production Training Package Qualifications (eg, Horticulture, Conservation and Land Management).
