This fashion design TAFE course will give you a basic and practical introduction to the fashion industry by equipping you with the necessary skills to design and produce a selection of wearable garments. As a student of this fashion designing course you will learn how to identify different fabrics and materials; clothing production processes such as laying, cutting, sewing and pressing garments; how to use technology for fashion industry applications; fabric printing and dyeing; and the art of fashion drawing and sketching using mixed media. Once you have finished studying at TAFE's fashion design school, you may wish to articulate into more advanced fashion design courses to enhance your knowledge of this vibrant but competitive industry.
