Automotive 240 hrs

Hunter TAFEAutomotive courses are available at Hunter TAFE for TVET students who are considering a career as an automotive mechanic in the auto service industry.

Study units on this automotive course include the basic modules covered as part of the 120 hour course, as well as more advanced automotive training.

As a student on this 240 hour course you will learn how to apply basic troubleshooting processes; safe working practices; how to communicate effectively in the workplace; servicing, maintaining and replacing car batteries; basic automotive technology and electronics; working with a car engine and using and maintaining workplace tools and equipment.

Important Information

Industry Curriculum Framework Course: This course may count towards an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) if you study it for 2 years consecutively. You would then need to sit the HSC exam to be eligible for an ATAR.
