Community Recreation (Sport & Recreation Fitness) TVET

students with a bicycle Hunter TAFE offers sport and recreation courses for students who want to learn more about the recreation and fitness industry. This sport and recreation course is made up of compulsory and elective units, depending on your area of interest. Enrol in this sports and recreation training course to learn basic exercise, communication and customer service skills in both a group and individual context for the sport & recreation industry. Units of study include applying basic anatomy and physiology to individual client fitness programs, undertaking client induction and screening, the development of basic fitness programs, preparing indoor and outdoor recreation activities, promoting the benefits of healthy eating to participants and performing warm-up stretching and cool-down techniques before and after exercise. There are a number of careers in sports and fitness to consider. These include jobs as a gym instructor, personal trainer or in a recreation and fitness management role.
