Food Processing (Wine)

vineyardOur professional level wine courses cater to people who work or aim to work in the wine industry in grape growing, cellar operations, laboratory operations, bottling and packaging or cellar door sales. Register for this TAFE course to further advance your appreciation of the wine making process and overall wine education.

Over the duration of these wine classes, you will  learn how to plan, supervise and coordinate the growing of selected grape varieties for the production of wine from the planting of the vine to bottling the vintage.

The viticulture topics include site selection, soil evaluation, wine grape varietal selection as well as gaining knowledge in vine planting, pruning, pest & disease control, grape harvesting & evaluating for quality. The wine making topics include grape crushing, pressing & fermentation, finishing & bottling as well as evaluation of Australian & International wine styles.
