
This course is for people employed as apprentices in Higher
Engineering Trade and for people who have completed a Certificate III inan engineering trade and who are seeking to expand their knowledge
and skills and to achieve a higher level of qualification. You will gain thecompetencies required by a tradesperson working at higher levels in
the manufacturing, engineering or related industries.
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and
attitudes required to work at thelevel of a Detail Draftsperson.
It aims to provide the following:
- A depth of knowledge pertaining to new developments and techniques in drafting associated with the metal,
manufacturing, fabrication, structural and electrical industries.
- A breadth of knowledge pertaining to drafting in areas associated with and complimentary to the above
industries.
- An opportunity for gaining skills in one particular industry area, together with more generalised skills within someassociated industrial areas.
- Ongoing development of the key (Meyer) competencies and their application to drafting and other associated
fields.
The course duration will vary depending on the training pathway agreed to between you, your employer and the TAFE college.
