
This mechanic training course is aimed at people seeking advanced procedures skills in mechanical training, such as how to diagnose, evaluate, design, modify and repair automotive electrical and mechanical systems, including diesel vehicles. This Hunter TAFE course is also suitable for people looking to develop or formalise team leadership and supervisory skills in the automotive industry. Enrol in this course if you have gained qualifications, technical skills and knowledge in AUR40205 Certificate IV in Automotive Technology (or demonstrate equivalent competence). Also, we advise that students be employed or undertaking mechanic apprenticeships so they may gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the competence requirements in this unit. Competence levels 4 and 5 achieved in other qualifications which comply with the Automotive Industry, Retail, Service and Repair Training Package AUR05 rules can be recognised in TAFE mechanical training programs. Graduates of this course can seek employment as an advanced diagnostic and design technician in the automotive industry; as a team leader, or as an automotive workplace supervisor.
