Hunter TAFE's horse courses are for people with a passion for horse riding who work in, or want to work in, the performance horse industry. Register for this equine course to learn practical animal handling skills and develop your decision making abilities whilst carrying out routine tasks. You will work with a wide range of horses predominantly around horse stables or on studs, including those that are flighty and/or of high economic value as well as acquire exposure to competition events. Once you have completed the training, you will be able to carry out a number of duties to include feeding, handling, grooming and caring for a performance horse to ensure its health and wellbeing. You will also have knowledge of horse breeding practices and be able to attend competition events with confidence. Hunter TAFE's horse training courses can help you gain work as a senior horse groom, horse trainer, stable foreman or stud hand or set you up for university study.
