
This pipe fitter training course is for laminators and fabricators working in the composites/FRP industry who want to become certified for jobs fitting and joining Glass Reinforced Plastic pipe in manufacturing, engineering, construction and infrastructure projects such as desalination plants, electricity generation, chemical processing, mining, oil and gas industry and pipelines etc. Since the 1980's the Chemical Resistant GRP industry in Australia has used Australian Standard AS 2634-1983 or the British Standard BS 4994:1987. Although still in use, these standards are currently being superseded by International Standard ISO 14692:2002. This training course addresses laminated joints constructed predominantly of glass fibre, polyester and vinyl ester resins and has been validated by Bureau Veritas HSE Pty Ltd as meeting the requirements of ISO 14692-4:2002 Petroleum and natural gas industries - Glass-reinforced plastics (GRP) piping - Part 4: Fabrication, installation and operation Annex D, Qualification of pipe fitter, piping supervisor and inspector.
