Hairdressing TAFE courses are for people interested in seeking work as a hairdresser in the health and beauty industry. This cutting stream is made up of eight units from the Certificate III in hairdressing course. Students enrolled on this training course will learn a number of cutting skills to help clients find the style that suits them best. Subjects covered include one length/solid cut structures, layered haircut structures, over comb techniques, combining haircut structures on women, combining traditional and classic designs for men and working as part of a salon team. On completion of this course, you may also want to complement your existing skills with a beauty course or a TAFE hairdressing course that cover skills on applying hair colour, treatments and design services. Career options include a job as a junior hair stylist.
