TAFE NSW Hunter Institute

Arboriculture

aboriculture Hunter TAFE's variety of arborist courses and horticulture courses are conducted in a simulated work environment to offer students the best training possible. Enrol in this arborist course if you want to work at a trade level in the arboriculture sector of the horticulture industry. You will learn about tree removal and management, operational safety, how to recognise plants, plant trees and shrubs, transplant small trees, prune trees, operate and maintain a chainsaw, fell small trees, remove stumps and determine the basic properties of soils. In conjunction with practical experience, the course enables you to develop the skills required to assist in cultivating, establishing, maintaining and caring for trees in public parks, housing estates and industrial complexes. Successful completion of arborist training courses can lead to a career as a arboriculture tradesperson, arborist or a tree surgeon. This certificate in horticulture directly articulates to Horticulture (Arboriculture) Certificate IV.
