Applied Fashion Design and Technology - Diploma

fashion patterns on smartboard This fashion design diploma course gives you the creative, practical and technical skills needed for a career at assistant manager level in the international fashion industry or within Australia.

 

Enrol in this 'hands-on' diploma of fashion design to learn a range of fashion designer skills for design and development of fashion concepts - from research through to patternmaking, figure and size analysis, fitting, garment cutting and block construction, garment realisation and merchandising.

 

The training environment simulates a work environment and work placement with a fashion company is included in the course. A range of electives include sketching, fashion illustration, lingerie and swimwear design, and using specialist fashion computer software.

 

After this fashion design TAFE course you may be eligible for the Applied Fashion Design and Technology Advanced Diploma.

 

Career opportunities include assistant designer, product developer, assistant patternmaker and grader, CAD operator, assistant production manager, assistant brand manager and fashion merchandiser.

Entry Requirements

NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent). Credit may be granted towards this qualification by those who have completed LMT41007 Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology or achieved equivalent industry experience.
