Applied Fashion Design and Technology - Certificate III

fashion patterns on smartboardThese fashion design courses are for people looking to work in the fashion industry in Australia perhaps on their way to becoming a fashion designer. Enrol in this school to learn fundamental creative and practical skills and knowledge for an introductory level job in the fashion business.

 

Depending on your electives, you'll learn basic sketching, identifying and applying design processes, identifying and selecting fibres and fabrics, basic pattern making, cutting, machining, embellishing and finishing fashion garments, dyeing and printing techniques to produce Aboriginal textile designs, marketing to local outlets and using computing technology. You can select a special series of units in fashion and textile designs used in Aboriginal culture. 
 

This is a hands-on fashion design TAFE course that sees you produce fashion garments. On completion you may be eligible for higher qualifications in Applied Fashion Design and Technology.
