
These millinery courses are for people doing an apprenticeship or those who want to learn the creative, technical and theoretical skills needed to work in a workroom or studio as a milliner's assistant or milliner.
Enrol in these millinery classes and select from a range of electives taught by an experienced instructor and include practical lessons and workshops.
Areas you can choose from include millinery design and development processes, identifying and selecting appropriate supplies and materials, making felt for millinery, flat patternmaking, millinery sewing and adhesion techniques, millinery production processes/placing and cutting patterns, using millinery pressing and steaming equipment, hand blocking and shaping techniques and making stitched hats.
On completion of this course you may be eligible to do Millinery Certificate III. Immediate career opportunities may include assistant milliner and millinery machinist.
