Sound Production Diploma

students in music studio This diploma of sound production is for those who want to work in the creative arts - music, performing and entertainment industries as assistant sound engineers or sound designers. Enrol in this sound engineering training to develop and apply your knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate your own work and/or that of a team. Learn to exercise music knowledge and artistic judgement and plan, develop and implement audio/sound design and sound recording. This audio course also shows you how to operate and maintain sound recording, production and playback equipment, with electives in ICT/digital, rigging, post-production, project management and business skills. When you finish you may wish to continue with Advanced Diploma studies in Sound Production, Screen and Media or Live Production, Theatre and Events. Immediate career opportunities include working as an assistant sound engineer or sound designer.

Entry Requirements

Candidates may enter the qualification through a number of entry points which demonstrate their potential to undertake vocational education and training at Diploma level, including (but not restricted to): = successful achievement of a relevant Certificate IV qualification, e.g. CUS40209 Certificate IV in Sound Production; CUF40107 Certificate IV in Screen and Media; and CUE40303 Certificate IV in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Operations) = extensive vocational experience in sound production.
