This course is for people who want to work as interior decorators or colour consultants in retail, consulting and/or building businesses. Graduates will develop skills in providing advice and practical assistance on the finishing and furnishing of existing interior spaces to meet client requirements for both residential and commercial environments.
The course also prepares students for further study at Diploma level and covers the skills required to provide a limited range of decoration advice and services, including:
- research and analysis of the client's goals and requirements;
- planning and arranging space;
- interior styling;
- specifying finishes and furnishings;
- selection of colours;
- specifications and purchasing.
Entry into this course at the Newcastle Design Centre does not require the completion of an Application form but will require an online enrolment prior to attending the information session. At the information session a teacher will assess your eligibility. This will ensure you have a thorough understanding of the course and receive answers to your questions.
