This course is a comprehensive fine arts course for those wanting to work as practising artists or who are intending to work in a related profession in the creative industries.
The course commences with a broad foundation year, followed by a second year of specialisation. The foundation year introduces and establishes skills across four main disciplines, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture. Core subjects are Drawing, Art Theory, Professional Practice, and Digital Imaging these continue throughout the two year course. In second year along with the core subjects, students also select two elective studio areas from Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture for extended study. You will develop a personal direction and style, based on a combination of skills, creativity and theoretical understanding. The emphasis of the course is on studio based skills and professional art practices.
On completion you can then undertake the Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts or obtain substantial credit into a degree course.
