This greenkeeping course would suit those with greenkeeper apprenticeships or those looking to work in the turf sector of the horticulture industry. In conjunction with relevant practical experience, you will be able to enhance your skills in developing plant and tree nutrition programs, promoting plant health, preparing sports turf maintenance programs, including for golf courses, creating soil survey maps, determining seasonal irrigation scheduling, planning and implementing chemical use programs, implementing pest management action plans, and monitoring environmental policies. You will also learn how to supervise work routines and staff performance, budget for projects, source goods and services, evaluate contractors, and analyse and present research information. Upon successful completion of this training, a range of greenkeeper jobs such as a turf industry supervisor would be suitable. You could also study for further qualifications such as the Horticulture (Turf) Diploma or the Horticulture Diploma.
