Furniture Making Certificate II

student working with timber Hunter TAFE offers furniture making courses for those in traineeships or people who are interested in pursuing woodworking, cabinet making or general furniture design. Enrol in these carpentry courses for foundation skills in the manufacture of free-standing furniture or built-in cabinets. You'll learn about sourcing supplies, the use of hand and power tools, measurements and calculations, occupational health and safety in the workshop and communication skills. Studies also cover the production environment and on-site assistance in the installation of furniture and other fitted cabinets including renovation of kitchens and bathrooms. After successful completion of this course you'll have advanced standing into course Cabinet Making (Furniture) Certificate III and Cabinet Making (Kitchens and Bathrooms) Certificate III. Career pathways after this course include assistant cabinet-maker, assistant installer of built-in cabinets, and production operator within a cabinet making enterprise.
