
Hunter TAFE offers a range of beautician courses for those who want training to become a professional beauty therapist in a salon or retail environment. Enrol in this course to learn a range of treatments, including applying make-up, waxing and epilating, nail technology and lash and brow services. As well as a range of beauty services you'll learn how to demonstrate and sell retail skin care, hair and other cosmetic products. You can study additional beauty treatments to develop skills to own or manage your own makeup or beauty therapy business. You must complete all core units plus electives to graduate, however you may be able to do single units to suit your particular needs. Career opportunities from this course include becoming a beautician, nail technician or salon manager.
