student writing animal report Hunter TAFE offers veterinary courses for people wanting work as an assistant in a veterinary clinic or those already employed in the care of animals in veterinary nursing. This veterinary training helps develop skills in medicine and vet practice administration including patient admission and discharge, office procedures, radiography, pathology, surgery, dental procedures, nursing animals and providing animal care advice to the public. It is essential you have access to a veterinary workplace through paid employment or work experience. By completing this veterinary course you will be able to work in a team environment with veterinarians and other veterinary nurses to supply quality care to a range of sick animals. You'll also be able to work safely in examination rooms, surgical theatres, offices and outdoor animal facilities. Further study after this course include Veterinary Nursing (Surgical) Diploma, Veterinary Nursing (Dental) Diploma, Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care) Diploma.

Entry Requirements

Pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: - direct entry - after achieving ACM20110 Certificate II in Animal Studies - vocational training and/or work experience across a range of work settings. This qualification is suited to Australian Apprenticeships pathways. It is recommended that whilst undertaking this qualification, the learner have access to a veterinary clinic.
