Companion Animal Services Certificate III

student writing animal report Hunter TAFE's companion animal studies are for people wanting to work with animals in an institution such as a pet shop, aquarium, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, kennel or cattery, or those already employed in the companion animal services. Enrol in this course to further your education in maintaining and monitoring animal health and wellbeing, maintaining hygiene and infection control and providing basic care to a range of companion animals. Your training will also include communication skills to provide information on products and services to the public. It is essential that during this course you have access to a companion animal workplace either paid or through work placement. Study pathways leading from this certificate include the Companion Animal Services Certificate IV. Job opportunities may include pet shop attendant, kennel attendant, cattery attendant, assistant dog trainer, pet exerciser, assistant grooming attendant or companion animal attendant.

Entry Requirements

Pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: - direct entry - after achieving ACM20110 Certificate II in Animal Studies - vocational training and/or work experience across a range of work settings. This qualification is suited to Australian Apprenticeship pathways. It is recommended that whilst undertaking this qualification, the learner have access to a companion animal workplace.
