Community Services Work - Diploma

Enrol in this community services course to further your skills in community development, case management, assessment and referral, advocacy, counselling, group work, psychology and sociology. You'll also learn management skills for the responsibility and supervision of other staff and volunteers. After completing this community services training, you will gain advanced standing in a number of units of competency in Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications and may be eligible for advanced standing in university qualifications. Careers in community services leading from this study may include assessor, case coordinator, case worker/manager, community services worker, family or group support worker, program coordinator, manager, social welfare worker or welfare worker.

Entry Requirements

To gain entry into this qualification a learner must: 1. Be recognised as competent, through a recognised training program or recognition process, against the following compulsory units of competency from CHC40708 Certificate IV in Community Services Work: - CHCCS411A Work effectively in the community sector - HLTHIR403B Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers OR 2. Have sufficient relevant experience and knowledge of community work and/or community services to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving: - The application of knowledge with depth in some areas and demonstration of a broad range of technical and other skills - A wide range of tasks and roles in a variety of contexts, with complexity in the range and choices of actions required and including work with culturally diverse clients and co-workers - The exercise of discretionary judgement and decision making under general guidance.
