
Hunter TAFE offers mental health courses for people working within a range of mental health services from nursing to psychology and community services. Enrol in this mental health certificate to develop skills in assessment, rehabilitation and care for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability. You'll focus on how to implement a community mental health program, study of mental illness and psychiatric disability and how to do promotion work. Completing this mental health training gives you advanced standing in a number of units of competency in Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications. Jobs that stem from this and similar courses in mental health include community rehabilitation support worker, community support worker, mental health outreach worker and mental health rehabilitation support worker. Those who enrol in the Apply First Aid unit must be physically able to perform basic life support skills.
