Hunter TAFE's certificate IV in disability is for people wanting to offer care in residential group homes, training resource centres, day respite centres, open employment services as well as a range of community settings or within clients' homes.
In this qualification, you can expect to learn about various disability services and management of the physical, medical and emotional needs of those with a disability. Completion of this course gives you direct entry into the Disability Diploma and advanced standing into a number of other Certificate III and Certificate IV qualifications.
Jobs that may stem from this training include behavioral support officer, development officer, disability officer/worker, employment coordinator, residential care officer, social trainer or supervisor. Please note those who enrol in the Apply First Aid unit must be physically able to perform basic life support skills.
