
Hunter TAFE offers home and community care courses for those seeking to further their knowledge of caring for people in a home or community situation. This particular home and community care training looks at effectively providing support and services for elderly and disabled people with complex needs. You will also learn strategies for management and supervision of a small group of other workers. When you finish this course, you can apply for advanced standing in a range of community service courses including community and welfare services, aged care, disability services and leisure, and health. This home and community care training suits those seeking a career as a care team leader, community support worker, service coordinator, assistant coordinator or assistant team leader. Please note those who enrol in the Apply First Aid unit must be physically able to perform basic life support skills.
