TAFE NSW Hunter Institute

Aged Care Certificate IV

aged careHunter TAFE's aged care certificate is for those already providing services to the elderly who wish to further their knowledge and skills as well as those seeking a career in aged care.

Whether working in a residential facility, as a day activity worker, personal care worker, in a nursing environment or providing support within the community, this program gives you the tools to work independently or undertake team leadership roles within an aged care service.

Learn to assess those with complex needs, plan and monitor service delivery, satisfy administrative work, organise group activities, implement OH&S policies, conduct recreation programs and deliver an effective work environment.

On completion of this course you may be able to apply for advanced standing in some community service courses such as community and welfare services, disability services and health. Please note this aged care course doesn't qualify you to provide direct care services to clients - see other Hunter TAFE aged care courses for this.
