Hospitality

hospitality Hunter TAFE's diploma of hospitality provides the knowledge to take on a management role in the hospitality industry. Enrol in this hospitality training for classes in how to successfully lead, supervise and manage a team. You'll also learn a variety of business skills from practical food service issues such as controlling stock and promoting goods and services, to budgeting, legal matters and developing operational plans. Successful completion of the diploma at our hospitality school will help you pursue work opportunities as a restaurant or kitchen manager, front office manager, motel manager or catering manager. You may also be eligible for further Hunter TAFE hospitality training in the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality and articulate with and receive credits for relevant units of competency from other hospitality courses in the Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package.

Entry Requirements

NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent) The NSW Liquor and Gaming Regulation require students to be 18 years of age or older if they are undertaking units of competency that involve the service of alcohol and/or gaming operations. To comply with these legislative requirements, students must be 18 years of age or older to undertake the following units in this course: SITHFAB001C Clean and tidy bar areas SITHFAB002C Operate a bar SITHFAB005A Provide table service of alcoholic beverages SITHFAB009A Provide responsible service of alcohol SITHFAB014A Provide specialist advice on wine SITHFAB015A Prepare and serve cocktails SITHFAB019A Manage wine for a wine outlet SITHFAB007A Complete retail liquor sales SITHFAB227A Operate and monitor cellar systems SITHFAB222A Conduct a product tasting for alcohol beverages SITHFAB428A Manage the sale or service of wine International Students require an overall score of 5.5 IELTS (International Language Testing System) or successful completion of the Certificate in English for TAFE available through TAFE English Language Centre to qualify for entry plus Mathematics equivalent to HSC Mathematics.
