
Hunter TAFE offers a range of cooking classes for those seeking training to work in a commercial kitchen environment. Enrol in this cooking course to learn a range of fundamental hospitality skills from practical application of cookery principles and implementation of food safety procedures (including how to store food properly) to the presentation of food. Gain culinary knowledge in preparation, cooking and service of foods (including vegetarian dishes) and how to work as an effective member of a team in a range of hospitality establishments. Career opportunities include breakfast cook, short order cook and fast food cook. After successfully completing this course, you may be eligible to enrol in other TAFE cooking courses, including Hospitality and Commercial Cookery programs. You may also receive credits for relevant units of competency from other qualifications in the Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package.
