hospitality catering operations Hunter TAFE offers catering courses to provide you with the skills necessary for catering events with class. Enrol in this catering course if you dream of a career within the dynamic hospitality and event management industry. Discover how to produce quality goods and develop your skills in cooking, organising, preparing and presenting food. You'll also be learning strategies for planning and controlling menu-based catering and promoting goods and services to customers. After successful completion of this course, you may wish to continue your catering training with eligibility to enrol in Certificate IV or other commercial cookery and hospitality courses. You'll receive credits for relevant units of competency from other qualifications in the Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package. This course can see you enter into a catering career as a cook, leading hand or food service assistant.

Entry Requirements

NSW School Certificate (or equivalent). The NSW Liquor and Gaming Regulation require students to be 18 years of age or older if they are undertaking units of competency that involve the service of alcohol and/or gaming operations. To comply with these legislative requirements, students must be 18 years of age or older to undertake the following units in this course: SITHFAB001C Clean and tidy bar areas SITHFAB002C Operate a bar SITHFAB003A Serve food and beverage to customers SITHFAB004A Provide food and beverage service SITHFAB009A Provide responsible service of alcohol SITHFAB014A Provide specialist advice on wine SITHFAB005A Provide table service of alcohol beverages SITHFAB222A Conduct a product tasting for alcohol beverages
